Hacking Obsidian: Creating Notion-like banner images in Obsidian without Plugins
A markdown-friendly and portable solution for banner images
I recently published an article on creating a Notion-like banner in Obsidian without a plugin. Interestingly, banner image support is not native to Outlook.
While I use many plugins, I do prefer to avoid using them if I can. So the CSS Snippet capability of Obsidian is handy in this regard. Check out this Hack to see how to do it in Obsidian:
Hi and thank you for your support.
Yes the banner feature will work with any image in your vault. Of course, you may need to crop or resize images so they work well as a banner. Just replace the IMAGE file name. So the "00 START HERE" page in the Learning vault has a callout at the top that looks like this:
>[!banner-image] ![[banner-notebook.jpg]]
just replace banner-notebook.jpg with the name of an image in your vault.
I hope that works.
Hi, I purchased your Cornell Vault. I now can add banner image within your vault. However, I am quite low-tech. I wonder how I can add my own image to the vault!
